In the first part of July I had a dear friend visit from Wyoming, then family from Utah came to visit us...we painted our family room (painting always goes faster with family!) Thank you Hannah and Erin and my mother in law Cathy!
Painting is really hard work!
And we celebrated Kaitlyn's birthday. My baby is now a big 3 year old!!!
Then we got to go to beautiful lake Tahoe with our Utah family in August, SO MUCH FUN!!!
PICTURES OF TAHOE WILL COME SOON......
As August began to slow down, I took a job working with the Lake County youth mentor program, I work 3 days a week, big change for our family, but it has been good. Things all fell into place, soooo smoothly! Then Labor day brought FAIR, and life as we knew it stood still here in Lakeview. You see fair is bigger than most things, and really the second largest celebration here in town...second only to Irish days.... If you don't participate in fair in some way, well- you had just better! It is safer that way....
So, we participated and Becca came away with a couple of BLUE ribbons, not bad for her first year participating.
After all of the long, hot, busy, summer goings on...we are back to school. This has been a big year for change, in school talk...Becca is now a 5th grader and the twinners are in Kindergarten. I love that they love their teachers. Becca has Mrs. Reaume and Tim and Aleyna have Mrs. McNeley. Both ladies are very nice and I hope they enjoy my kids as much as my kids already enjoy them.
Kaitlyn has made a super smooth transition to all of this, she and I have a few hours to ourselves on Thursday and Friday and during the first of the week she enjoys the time at friends houses while she is being watched. Don't get me wrong, being away from her is KILLING me, and I hate, HATE not being there for my kids everyday. But some things can't be helped....
One of the big things we have been working on this summer has been our yard.....it is last on our list of adventures because it is still going on. Here are a few pics of what has taken place. It has really been a labor of love, REALLY!!! We have pulled out a ton of trees and tried to level, dug many holes for posts and we really are trying to get a fence up. Anyhow, I will let the photos speak for themselves.
Long story short (too late?) things have rolled over quite nicely! So grateful for all that we have, for all that we are doing and for our little family here in Oregon.
In other news........I love fall, best time of year....for me! LOVE IT!!!
Hi Miss Diana!!!! Did you make that Tangled cake? Nice job!!! :) I love that we got to see you for 2 seconds when you came to Utah. Have fun in Disneyland! ;)
